Official Notice of Intent for Regent – Reign XXIX
I would like to hereby announce my intent to run for Kingdom Regent. I’ve been giving this considerable thought for some time now. In the past we’ve had some amazing Regents...and some were, sadly, less than amazing. There have been some who had great ideas but unfortunately offered little follow through. I believe that I can help make all potential Regents even better at the job.
If elected, I'll run a challenging and competetive DragonMaster, I'll hold a collegium, and I'll make sure the Wetlands has one hell of an endreign/coronation. This is not my platform that is the job of Regent.
My platform is to redefine the roles and responsibilities of the Masters in the Kingdom. For too long, I've been hearing and reading that teaching is the duty of a Knight. I disagree. Traditionally, that's the role of a Master. I would like to see to it that Masters get that duty back. To achieve that end, I would like to create a College of Masters. The duty of this group would be for all the A&S Masters in the Kingdom to come together to collaborate for special projects, actively choose Apprentices, and discuss, for recommendation to the Monarch, those individuals with enough talent to have earned a Masterhood title (I'll offer more specifics on these ideas a bit later).
For those of you who may not know me:
I’ve been playing in the Wetlands since 1997 and playing in Amtgard since 1991.
I’m a Master Dragon and I was Dragonmaster for Reign XXVII.
I’ve served as Regent in most of the parks I’ve played in.
I’m currently serving as Secretary of the BOD.
I’ve been appointed to several Kingdom positions in the past such as Kingdom Rules Rep, ORK Herald, and most recently, Guildmaster of Reeves.
I believe that if we work together we can be stronger than we are while working alone. I believe unity will cause our voice to ring louder than ever before. I know that I’m the best person for this office and I look forward to proving that to you.
In service, I remain,
Baron Master Thalen Tannon
